JON BELLION
OOOOOOOOOO Jon, what doesn’t his music contain? There are songs that make me dance, tracks that I just want to turn up in my car while driving around, and tunes that slow us down and let us sit in a space to think. I’m not even sure about how I came to hear his music to be honest. I do remember the first track I heard was “iRobot”, and it just grabbed me. The album “The Human Condition” is where that song is featured on, and it is a rare thing to make an album that we listen to every single song on. I listened to that whole album without skipping a song. It’s so hard these days to listen to an entire album when we have so many options to just download a single song, or just skip half the songs we aren’t feeling. This man creates songs like “ The internet, Ungrateful Eyes, and Maybe IDK” that I cannot help, but get up, dance and move around. Then we got to take a trip over to tracks like “Paper Planes, Mah’s Joint, and Conversations with my wife” that just let you listen and connect with your thoughts. The mixing of upbeat tempos and other slower pace songs just makes everything work. Even the music itself stretches out the sounds they put together, sometimes really featuring the perconsion forward, the electric piano stepping up, and my personal favorite when we get the horn instruments to take center stage. There is bound to be at least a few songs of his I think most people would enjoy listening to, and his music has definitely connected me to other sounds like his.
