2016 Grammys Tori Kelly and James Bay

TORI KELLY AND JAMES BAY

There are many performances I would pay all the money to see live, but the one by Tori Kelly and James Bay at the 2016 Grammys is among the top. I don’t go out of my way to watch award shows so it was kind of by chance that my wife and I caught this performance. At the time I believe both of these artists were up for the best new artist award, and they did this song which was a mashup of their songs Hollow – Tori Kelly and Let it go – James Bay. It was just two awesome artists, their guitars, and electricity! They started off slow with Let it go, and finished with a building up version of Hollow which just cemented the great performance. I would have assumed these two were a duet from how good they were together. The give and take between them was so seamless, and the harmonies just outstanding. What an awesome showcase of the range of both artists. They both were soft and calm at points, and then brought up the energy together to such an exciting ending. Tori Kelly’s power is so real! She probably doesn’t need a microphone to project to a crowd. Then we have James Bay over here just being smooth throughout, and then bringing it up to match where Tori brings the song. I don’t know who the person was to have this idea, but give that person a pay raise. The organization of the songs together was so fantastic. At some points they were singing the same song, and at others they were singing two separate songs, but it worked out so well. Immediately after I watched them perform together I went and downloaded some of their music. Separately they are both great, but seeing and hearing them together was too damn good!
