I am definitely the type of person to put a song on repeat for days at a time, and the song Stay by Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko was one of those. Listening to their voices with just a piano playing was just the best. I remember the first time hearing this song on the radio, and it was a quiet night driving home from seeing a movie. That movie was Silver Linings Playbook. In my brain this song is connected directly to that movie, and has some parallels to them. Two people that are lost and searching trying to fill in holes that they don’t understand, and finding each other in the process. For quite a bit of time I actually thought this song was on the soundtrack for this movie, but apparently it’s not. Maybe they can re-release the soundtrack just to add this song on it lol. Before this song I had never heard of Mikky Ekko, but this was one of the best introductions to a new artist. I wish there were more artists coming together like this because this kind of music is what people want to hear. Not to mention with just a piano playing they both get to really show their vocal skills and ability to harmonize with another person. This song will always be a good fit for a drive home at night, and we are so lucky these two came together to make this.
